As a manufacturer and supplier of sophisticated software solutions for production planning and control, we are not only witnessing the digitalisation of these specific processes. In general contact and cooperation with our customers, the arena has also increasingly shifted to the digital world in recent years. Despite, or perhaps because of, these changes, the value of direct, open dialogue with our customers must not be allowed to fade into the background.
With our user meeting last week, the first of two on-site events this year, we have given our users a forum for precisely this kind of dialogue.

Firstly, with us as a service provider and manufacturer for some of their integral tools for their daily tasks: What motivates our customers with regard to their use of our products? The immediacy of feedback on our work and the software modules cannot be replaced in a personal dialogue. With a shared view (and cursor) on the respective points in the system, suggestions for improvement can be implemented much more directly.
What do our users see as the biggest challenges in their business areas? In the conversations and round tables on current economic and political events, we can find a valuable balance between our customers' ideas and goals and our product-related focus and put them directly up for open discussion.
What software innovations can our customers expect in the coming months? Not without a certain amount of anticipation, we were able to give the select group of participants an exclusive look at the next development stage of our software by presenting a number of roadmap topics. We also used this programme item as an opportunity to present our approaches openly for discussion and to incorporate the participants' assessments.

Secondly, for the dialogue with other, fellow tetys users: as ‘common’ as the tetys tools and interfaces in use are, the individual use cases and methods are as diverse as the business areas within our customer base. For example, when employees from a steel processing company explain their ways of using tetys MES to their ‘colleagues’ from the plastic injection moulding department and thus come up with new ideas. In those moments, also we are happy to add this to our success account as an ‘interdisciplinary tool’.

In addition to our users and our tools for them, there was a third important player on the stage called ‘User Meeting’: our home city of Aachen.
As a supra-regional provider with strong regional roots, we were delighted to invite our participants to Aachen. The ITA Academy, with its Innovation and Learning Centre, is a strong partner and fellow campaigner for us here. Instead of the familiar conference room flair, we were able to embed our event in the model factory of the ILC and thus in a genuine shop floor setting. The exemplary production of smart wristbands including an RFID chip offers many points of attack to run through our detailed solutions, e.g. for process data acquisition and visualisation, the paperless machine workstation or the digital quality laboratory ‘live on the scene’.

In addition to the technical suitability, the geographical location also invited our guests to take a short walk across the border to learn more about the ‘border-triangle’ location and the Euregio.

As hosts, we look back on a day with many enriching impressions and hope that our guests were able to complete their journey home with a similar résumé (and our sweet ‘travelling provisions’) in their luggage. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the participants once again for their visit and their active participation and contribution to our meeting. See you next time on site, your tetys team is already looking forward to seeing you!

Philipp has been part of the tetys team since the beginning of 2024. Both there and in the wild, he prefers to counter problems with tailor-made solutions. His enjoyment of "paperless" ends with his collection of concert posters at home, and outside of the tetys environment, he prefers to satisfy his passion for successful visualization of all kinds of topics at the movies and in the wider (local) cultural landscape.
