Recurring restocking can be considered in the context of the relevant product group. Production volumes, stock levels and deadlines can be better coordinated. This makes it clearer at an earlier stage when which items should be restocked.

When similar items or variants are considered together, production sequences can be planned more effectively. At the same time, it becomes clear which decisions have an impact on stock levels, capacity and delivery dates. In doing so, outstanding requirements are filled evenly and progressively, taking into account a defined time horizon or a limited target quantity. At its core, a constraint-based optimisation process runs, which simultaneously takes into account set-up logic, material availability, stock levels, priorities and dependencies, and uses these to calculate a sensible sequencing of production orders. Feedback from MES pro data, changes in quantities or new deadlines means the plan is continuously reassessed, ensuring that the item group logic remains stable even in the event of short-term changes.
