A breath of fresh air for production
Creating new perspectives
Last week was a special day at tetys: we had a student intern for a day in our marketing department. A young person who explored our world with wide eyes and an open-minded curiosity. You may now be asking yourselves: And what does a one-day student internship have to do with production processes? More than you might think at first glance. For me, this outside perspective underlined the need for continuous optimisation and shows how innovative software solutions such as those from tetys help to create agile workflows, address the shortage of skilled workers and ensure long-term competitiveness. Read on for more insights.
It's been exactly 1836 days since I finished school. Not that long compared to some of my colleagues who have just celebrated their 39th anniversary at tetys alone. And yet it's been long enough for me to have an unbiased view of certain processes or topics. That's why it was all the more exciting that I was able to supervise intern Dennis in our marketing department for the first time last week.
A trial day at tetys
Dennis was with us for a ‘taster day’, which was intended to provide career guidance. Having just arrived, we confirmed the cliché of interns and he went to get us coffee. Of course, that was NOT the case. Dennis spent the day gaining insights into what we deal with on a daily basis, from website maintenance to social media and strategy development. He gave us valuable ideas for content for social media and also provided other good input that gave us new ideas. Although these are just a few building blocks of our day-to-day work, they still helped Dennis to gain an insight, as he says himself:
"Even though it was only one day, I was able to learn a lot and gain exciting insights into the world of work. I thought that my one-day internship at tetys was very good, also because the employees are very friendly and helpful. I was even allowed to create something myself and my ideas were realised."
The last sentence is the most important for me. Bringing in new ideas. Fresh perspectives from outside. Every day, I deal with tasks that vary in themselves, but still essentially follow similar themes and marketing strategies. As a result, I have developed a biased view of many things in recent years. That's not to say that this is a bad thing, as it simplifies the day-to-day work and can increase efficiency. Nevertheless, new ideas and perspectives from outside are sometimes lacking, especially from people who have never had anything to do with tetys or the industry before. Dennis was a good example of this.
A fresh breeze
A breath of fresh air is usually good for us all, even in everyday working life. New perspectives not only broaden our horizons, but can also help with acute problems.
This is also the case in production planning. The issue of a shortage of skilled labour, for example, affects many companies these days. Of course, there are many options to get round this. So we at tetys have also adopted a new perspective and developed planning flex. planning flex makes production planning simpler, more efficient and more cost-effective. The service adapts flexibly to requirements, automates important planning processes and optimises the use of resources. This gives you full control and transparency without additional effort - ideal for companies that want to sustainably increase growth and efficiency. A different perspective that takes production planning to a new level. An idea that has emerged from new perspectives. If you would like to find out more about this topic, please read on here.
Conclusion
Dennis' trial day with us showed the value of an outside perspective. New perspectives and a fresh look help many companies to develop new ideas and projects. This idea can be applied directly to production planning. The shortage of skilled labour and the increasing demands on companies require innovative approaches. This is where tetys comes in with planning flex. A software solution that uses new perspectives in planning to automate processes, optimise resources and help companies become more agile, efficient and competitive. Whether in marketing or production, it is clear that the willingness to accept new perspectives is the key to sustainable success and innovation.
