tetys solution: Module - TPM

July 11, 2022

Many questions arise at the beginning. Where does sustainability start? What is the best way to achieve my goals? The answer is basically quite simple. Sustainability can be implemented in small steps at the beginning and starts with the decision.

With the tetys system, you create an initial basis for the future!

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is used in many areas of maintenance today.

But what does this module stand for?

The TPM module, also known as Total Productive Maintenance or Total Productive Management, is a module for improving all areas of a company.

The specialization here is primarily in the area of production. This includes the maintenance of machines and systems, tools and facilities such as fire extinguishers, or other items produced and requiring maintenance.

The main aim here is to reduce losses and waste with the aim of preventing defects, downtimes, quality losses and accidents.

The implementation and expansion of the system is carried out with a particular focus on simple, intuitive operability. The TPM module is an add-on module that is not included in the standard scope of the PDA system.

The confirmation of a maintenance, servicing or inspection activity is carried out via a web interface optimized for touch operation.

What is the aim of this module?

The aim of the module is to provide the user with simple support for repetitive maintenance, servicing and testing activities during production. Maintenance failures are prevented and power consumption is reduced. Measures are taken to improve quality in production.

The extent to which the TPM module succeeds in achieving the goals set can be tracked with the help of
key figures in six target categories:

  • Productivity (P),
  • Quality (Q),
  • Costs (C),
  • Delivery service (D),
  • Safety and environment (S) and
  • Motivation (M).

In addition to customer satisfaction, this should also ensure employee and shareholder satisfaction and a responsible approach to the corporate environment.

What does this mean for sustainability?

The aim of sustainable production is to protect the environment by optimizing company processes. Sources of error and faults should be identified at an early stage to reduce increased waste, energy and material consumption.

Maintenance downtime in production leads to increased energy and resource consumption. The risk of production downtime increases. Defective systems or machines increase the environmental impact due to increased energy consumption and the quality of the products suffers. Production may have to be restarted due to faulty rejects. This results in increased resource consumption and reduced customer and employee satisfaction.

The tetys TPM module helps to prevent these problems and offers companies a wide range of benefits:

  • Continuous improvement of processes in production and maintenance.
  • Increased availability and reliability of your machines and systems.
  • Cleanliness and safety
  • Fewer and shorter unplanned downtimes
  • Transparency of processes
  • Positive external image towards customers
